In the year 2002, Urdu novelist and short story writer Abdullah Hussain began to write his first work. He started to write a novel that eventually turned out to be ‘Udaas Naslain’. Udaas Naslain was the first non-fiction work written by Abdullah Hussain. Udaas Naslain was published in the year 2004. The story covers 15 chapters and is a fictional account of the history of Pakistan as told from the point of view of a young Pakistani boy named Aftab.
